BMC HealthNet Plan recognizes that a range of emotional, social and behavioral
issues pose a major threat to the overall health and quality of life to many of
our members. As a result, Behavioral Health Services plays a central role in
overseeing and managing members’ mental health and substance abuse access and
treatment. The department’s activities focus on:
-
Tailoring care-management approaches to individual needs with attention to
behavioral health and medical conditions
-
Programs addressing the special needs of members diagnosed with health
conditions or chronic diseases, and social situations requiring significant
care coordination and community support
-
Contractual arrangements with community resources representing a full continuum
of mental health and substance abuse levels of care.
-
Ensuring culturally and linguistically appropriate care to our members,
whenever possible
In summary, Behavioral Health Services responds to members’ mental health and
substance abuse needs with flexible care management approaches, a creative and
responsive provider network, and attention to effective and efficient
interventions.
