MassHealth is a health insurance program for eligible Massachusetts residents.
BMC HealthNet Plan participates in this program. You must qualify for
MassHealth first before you can choose BMC HealthNet Plan.
MassHealth members pay $0 in premiums (monthly fees) and $0 deductibles (upfront
fees). For prescription drugs, you either have $0 copay or a small co-pay (fee
you pay at the time you receive care), depending on your age and the MassHealth
program you qualify for.
If you qualify for MassHealth, you'll be able to:

regularly see a doctor who gets to know your healthcare needs

see a specialist *

go to the hospital *

get medications - low-cost or free prescription drugs, and in certain cases,
over-the-counter drugs with a prescription from your primary care provider
(PCP)

How Do I Know if I Qualify?
You must apply directly to MassHealth (See How Do I Sign Up below) to find out
whether or not you qualify. To qualify for the particular MassHealth programs
in which BMC HealthNet Plan participates, you must be a Massachusetts resident,
AND a U.S. citizen, U.S. qualified alien, or alien with special status.
In addition, you must meet the Program's income guidelines, and are one or more
of the following:

younger than 19
-
pregnant
-
HIV-positive and under age 65
-
disabled
-
a parent living with children under age 19
-
an adult relative living with children for whom you are the primary caretaker
-
have been unemployed for a long time
-
a woman under age 65 with breast or cervical cancer
